The first half of the 2016/17 season in the Regional NRW Rheinland is over and the winter break is coming up. Time to look back on the performance of the men’s team.
The local station OK54 Bürgerfunk produced a nice video about rugby in Trier which you can watch below:
|Team||Penalty Goals||Tries||Conversions||BP||Game Points||Outcome|
|FSV Trier-Tarforst (Herren)||0||1||1||—||7||Loss|
|VfL Bad Ems Rugby||0||5||3||1||31||Win|
The first game of the 2016/17 season could be won by the guest from Bad Ems with 7:31. With mostly new players Trier lacked the necessary experience in playing together and the technical skills to score and prevent the enemies’ breakthroughs. All in all Bad Ems could score five tries and successfully kick three out of their five conversions. Trier only scored one time in the last twenty minutes of the game. At least they could successfully kick the following conversion.
At the 10th of September 2016 the men will have their first game of the season. The game will be played against VfL Bad Ems from 3pm on at the Waldstadion in Trier. Spectator are very welcome. There will be food and drinks available.
Just before the next season starts, our men’s team is hosting a Rugby tryout training. If you have always wanted to try Rugby you are most welcome to come around.
You have always wanted to try a new sport? A fast and physical team sport? A game for all shapes and sizes?
Then join your rugby tryout! Rugby is a sport for everybody – big or small, old or young, beginner or experienced player.
There are no prerequisites. The training will be beginner friendly and will you show all aspects of the game. You only have to bring sports wear and – if you already have them – boots with cleats and a mouth guard.
The training starts on the 3rd of September at 2pm at the Waldstadion Trier (Kockelsbergerweg 23, 54293 Trier).
Afterwards we will have a BBQ together and possibly a few beer too. :)
